AMD Bulldozer breaks personal world report, overclocked to 8.46GHz
Advanced Micro Devices might be feeling a bit silly proper about now. To indicate off how highly effective the Bulldozer chip actually is, it drafted in the world's most elite overclockers, set them up in a room with whatever was required (including a vat of liquid helium) and broke the chip-pace world record. With a verified pace of 8.429GHz, the company collected its Guinness world file and sat back, thinking that nobody might ever best it. Lower than two months later and Andre Yang (who we are able to assume does not have his own army complicated to run his experiments in) managed to get his Bulldozer operating at 8.46GHz, 30MHz faster than the chip's own father or mother might manage. We wouldn't dare recommend that anybody stand outdoors AMD's Sunnyvale HQ while taking part in the unhappy trombone -- but when anybody deserves that chance, it'd definitely be Mr. Yang.
